
Marshall MacFarlane was born and raised in eastern Canada, then lived in northern Maine for five years before moving to Arizona almost 25 years ago. He has been an outdoor writer and editor since 1984. A former member of the Western Outdoor Writers and the Professional Outdoor Media Association, he has been published in print and online including the Arizona Outdoorsman magazine, Eastman’s Hunting magazine, The Tracker (AES). Western Whitetail and others. From picking fiddleheads and running traplines in the woods of New Brunswick during his youth, to fishing stripers and hunting Coues in Arizona – he has spent a lifetime in the outdoors. Marshall also does freelance writing and editing, technical writing, ghost writing and more.
A Millwright by trade, much of his career has been spent in Facilities Management, in both government and private sectors. He belongs to several professional associations and conservation groups, being particularly active in the Arizona Mule Deer Organization. He lives with his wife, daughter and a houseful of dogs in Queen Creek, Arizona.
